Nutritional Care Specialist Join a mission-driven clinical nutrition team where your expertise truly makes a difference. In this role, you'll provide advanced nutritional care to inpatients and physician-referred outpatients, following established clinical guidelines and working under the immediate supervision of the clinical manager. Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments to evaluate nutritional status and develop individualized care plans. Interview patients to gather detailed nutrition histories and identify needs, risks, and barriers. Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accurate implementation of therapeutic diets and nutrition interventions. Travel within the Powers Health system as needed; if applicable, provide proof of a current driver's license and auto insurance. Communicate effectively across the hospital, requiring frequent interaction with individuals at all levels and strong interpersonal skills to support hospital policies, programs, and patient care. Work involves a variety of problems, including complex situations requiring independent judgment to interpret information, adapt from standard procedures, and determine appropriate actions to meet clinical objectives. Collaborate professionally with physicians, staff, and families as a daily part of the care team.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution with a major in Food and Nutrition and completion of a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) approved program.
Master's degree required for new graduates beginning January 2024. Dietitians credentialed prior to 2024 may hold a Bachelor's degree and are grandfathered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration preferred; registry-eligible candidates accepted. Two years of experience in dietetics and/or food service operations preferred. Licensure with the State of Indiana, or application submitted within one month of registration.
