Overview Employment Type: PRN Shifts Available: Days Hours: Monday through Friday (No Call or Weekend requirement) Location: South Kansas City Surgicenter—Overland Park, KS Join our innovative healthcare team as a skilledSurgical Technologistand play a pivotal role in transforming patient lives. As aCertified Surgical Technologist (CST), you will be at the heart of the surgical process, ensuring precision and exceptional patient care. Responsibilities ***This position does not require being on-call nor working weekends/holidays! Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):
Set up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
Maintain a sterile environment and sterilize all instruments before surgery.
Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and assist with various tasks.
Count and manage sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures.
Help position and drape patients appropriately for surgery.
Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
Graduation from an accredited ORT/Surgical Tech program AND minimum one year of experience
On-the-job trained techs: minimum 2 years experience in a main OR surgical setting
Must be proficient in the following specialties: ENT and Plastics
Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., General, Ortho, Urology, Ophthalmic, Pain, Colo-Rectal)
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
