Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Specialty Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for performing patient evaluations, reviewing pretreatment teaching, recommending therapeutic interventions, counseling patients and families, and collaborating with appropriate physicians to provide other appropriate direct care interventions within the scope of practice for physician's assistants. Every day, you will serve as the primary point of contact and assume responsibilities for managing the care for patients. This involves meticulous assessment, empathetic communication, and seamless collaboration with physicians and other care providers to ensure comprehensive, high-quality, and patient-centered care within your specialized area. To be successful in your role, you will strategically manage comprehensive patient care, performing evaluations, recommending therapeutic interventions, and counseling patients and families within your specialized area. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency in providing direct care, act as the primary point of contact for patient management, and collaborate effectively with physicians to ensure optimal outcomes, all within the defined scope of practice for physician's assistants. A Physician Assistant (PA), is a crucial member of the healthcare team who works under the supervision of a licensed physician. Their role is multifaceted and involves a range of clinical and administrative responsibilities aimed at providing high-quality patient care. Physician Assistant Associates work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, primary care practices, specialty offices, and urgent care centers. They play a vital role in expanding access to healthcare services, improving patient outcomes, and supporting the overall efficiency of the healthcare delivery system.
Responsible for performing patient evaluations reviewing pretreatment teaching recommending therapeutic intervention counseling patients and families and collaborating with appropriate physicians to provide other appropriate direct care interventions within the scope of practice for physician's assistants.
Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.
Works within a multidisciplinary team to develop plans for the patient and their family.
Gathers complete history of patients and perform complete physical examinations or focused physical examinations for specific complaints. Completes discharge summaries and maintains documentation on patient visits.
Job Requirements Required
Certification as Physician Assistant from Arizona Joint Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners
Background in pre-med
Bachelor's Degree as a Physician Assistant
Three (3) years clinical experience in related area or specialty field
