Development Associate The Development Associate is a frontline fundraising professional responsible for managing a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, cultivating new relationships, and supporting donor strategy that advances Here Tomorrow's mission of providing no-cost, same-day suicide prevention support. The Development Associate works closely with the Director of Development and leadership team to create meaningful donor experiences, develop gift strategies, and steward supporters through personalized engagement and impact storytelling. Key Responsibilities:
Donor Portfolio Management
Manage a portfolio of assigned donors and prospects (typically 50-125) Build relationships through calls, meetings, tours, handwritten notes, and events Develop and execute individual donor cultivation and stewardship plans Track all donor interactions, moves, and next steps in the CRM
Fundraising & Solicitation
Personally solicit gifts through meetings, calls, and written proposals Identify, qualify, and cultivate new individual donors and prospects Participate in the creation of annual giving, mid-level, and special campaign strategies Collaborate on gift-giving plans aligned with donor interests and mission impact
Strategy & Collaboration
Partner with the Director of Development on donor strategy and revenue goals Contribute to donor segmentation, outreach planning, and engagement strategy Support event-based fundraising and donor follow-up efforts Collaborate with Marketing to ensure donor communications are timely and personalized
Stewardship & Reporting
Ensure donors receive prompt, meaningful gratitude and impact reporting Assist with donor reports, acknowledgements, and stewardship campaigns Use data to evaluate donor engagement and adjust strategy accordingly

Qualifications & Experience:
Required: 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, sales, or relationship-based roles Experience managing relationships, portfolios, or accounts Comfort asking for financial support and discussing philanthropic giving Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills High level of organization and follow-through Experience using a CRM or donor database Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace Preferred: Experience managing a donor portfolio or personal solicitation goals Experience with donor stewardship, moves management, or annual giving Familiarity with fundraising ethics and donor-centered practices Experience working events as part of cultivation or stewardship strategy Knowledge of suicide prevention, mental health, or healthcare philanthropy
