Perform CT exams and assist physician in invasive procedures in a timely manner. Demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness within the department time standards for routine exams. Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it. Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam. Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient's medical records. Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: RT (R) (CT) required within one year of employment 3-6 months general x-ray experience preferred. 6-12 months CT experience preferred. IV and power contrast injector experience preferred. CPR certification required. Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods and techniques required. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required. Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required. Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required. Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required. Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment. Competent in using a computer keyboard, email, Imagecast and PACS or similar applications. DAILY PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIRED FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Requires a moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, turning and repetitive motion; some bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment. Ability to assist patients to walk, sit, stand and move to and from the exam table, wheelchair and/or Hoyer lift. ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: High-Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood products, bodily fluids and/or hazardous materials common to a radiology setting. High-Potential exposure to ionizing radiation exams rooms and/or involved in the use of ionizing radiation common to a radiology setting.
