Interim Pharmacy Manager Rx relief is seeking a skilled and adaptable Interim Pharmacy Manager / Working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for an immediate, short-term contract at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in near the Dover, DE area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced clinical or staff pharmacist looking to step into a leadership role without needing years of prior management experience. You will oversee a small, efficient team in a low-stress facility with a stable, predictable patient census. Position Overview
Role Type: Temporary / Interim Contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) | No Weekends!
Compensation: $75.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities In this dual-functioning role, you will balance regulatory oversight with daily operational staffing:
Dual Oversight: Act as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) while managing daily frontline pharmacy operations.
Team Leadership: Supervise and direct one technician per shift
Daily Operations: Handle medication order entry, clinical verification, and final medication checks.
Clinical Collaboration: Provide drug information to medical staff and actively participate in multidisciplinary discharge rounds.
Position Requirements We are looking for a reliable professional who meets the following criteria:
Licensure: Active, unrestricted Delaware Pharmacist License in good standing.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical inpatient hospital or rehabilitation facility experience.
IV Compounding: Strong foundational knowledge of IV compounding is required. Recent experience within the last 3–5 years is highly preferred (Note: There is no chemo/hazardous compounding involved).
Management Experience: Not required! The client is highly receptive to an accomplished staff or clinical pharmacist ready to take on PIC responsibilities.
