Our client is hiring a licensed CFY Speech-Language Pathologist for a full-time role at a trusted Skilled Nursing Facility in Dothan, AL. You will work under the supervision of an experienced SLP to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders. Apply today and a recruiter will follow up with the details. Minimum Requirements: Master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Alabama State license required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year under supervision by an SLP with CCC. Desire and ability to work with individuals across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatrics. Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to read prescriptions and communicate with physicians and staff. Preferable experience with administration of video fluoroscopic evaluations and therapy for dysphagia. Ability to perform required communication and hearing demands for evaluation and treatment. COVID-19 vaccination preferred; exemptions will be considered.

Position Summary: Provide quality speech and dysphagia evaluations and treatments to patients with communication and/or swallowing deficits. Manage and supervise programs and services related to human communication and its disorders as assigned by the Clinical Director. Counsel patients, families, caregivers, and other providers regarding communication and swallowing disorders and their management. Provide treatment only upon written prescription of a licensed physician.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities: Screen, identify, assess, diagnose, and rehabilitate speech and language disorders (e.g., articulation, fluency, voice). Screen, identify, assess, diagnose, and rehabilitate oropharyngeal dysfunction and dysphagia. Assess and treat cognitive-communication disorders. Select, develop, and provide training for augmentative and alternative communication systems. Document evaluations, treatment plans, goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Assist with departmental record keeping and charging systems. Participate in discharge planning related to treatment programs. Provide staff and nursing in-service education as needed.
Physical and Special Demands: Requires communication and hearing skills to evaluate and treat speech/language disorders. Willingness to work with individuals with temporary and/or chronic physical, mental, or developmental disabilities.
Training, Experience, and Supervision: Preferred completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year. Candidates not yet CFY-complete will be supervised by an SLP with CCC.
