Working in an impressive variety of settings, the quality control technicians are responsible for maintaining quality-assurance processes, testing products and recording/analyzing results during product development, manufacturing, and delivery. The products being tested range from concrete materials; fresh concrete to hardened concrete. Quality Control Technicians follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to best production practices and product quality standards, as well as monitoring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of product output. Quality Control Technicians work as part of an integrated team, excellent interpersonal communication skills are crucial. Quality Control Technicians will be required to obtain ACI & TxDOT Certifications. Responsibilities Sampling and Testing Concrete Maintain Quality Quality Limits and Non-Compliance Job site Control Functions Slump Control Procedures Investigation of abnormal test results Troubleshooting, Problem Solving, Report Drafting Conduct Inspection of Plants and Fleets Proportioning of Concrete Mix Designs/Trial Batches Processing and Filing Test Results Laboratory Procedures Statistical Evaluation of Strength Data Specification Review Assist with Implementation of QMS Implementation of personnel Training Programs Analyze, Review and Adjust Mix Designs All candidates must possess many of the following skills and attributes: Communication Skills - Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers and other personnel in person, on the telephone & electronically. Self-motivated - Has the ability to perform duties with minimal/no supervision. Excellent Time Management & Planning Skills Must have desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process & product quality & reliability. Solid understanding of plant practices & quality control procedures. Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Spreadsheet development skills. Detailed record keeping skills. Data analysis - Reviewing/Interpreting Test Results Advanced Mathematical Skills Decision Making Skills Problem Solver Motivated Team Player Has Vision Able to read and understand standard specifications (ASTM, ACI, TX DOT, COA). Trustworthy Possesses Integrity Dependable/Reliable Able to recognize potential problems. Pro-active Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: Minimum 2 years industry experience, preferably in concrete production, testing/quality control.
