Pharmacist Position This position provides and coordinates activities related to the daily provision of pharmaceutical care. Responsible for the day to day supervision of technicians. Able to read and interpret physician orders; manipulate pharmaceuticals in preparation for dispensing; operate equipment necessary for compounding, preparing, labeling, and dispensing drugs; document activities, interventions, and processes; communicate drug/disease-related information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff in a consultant role verbally and in writing to include pharmacokinetics, parenteral nutrition, geriatrics, and pediatric dosing, etc.; document activities occurring during the situation where appropriate. Provide project support and maintain appropriate competencies as determined by the department. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements
Graduate of a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Must be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Indiana and maintain such licensure in good standing. ACLS certification or must obtain within one (1) year of employment. BLS certification or must obtain during orientation and prior to reporting to department.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, providers and other hospital personnel on a one-to-one basis using appropriate grammar, vocabulary and word usage. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress. Basic computer skills and the ability to work in the EMR and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function. Excellent customer service skills. Strong organizational skills in order to manage multiple issues simultaneously combined with ability to effectively prioritize. Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties.
Working Conditions
Typical hospital clinical environment with prolonged sitting and occasional standing and walking. Work may be subject to interruptions and occasional high stress levels. Risk for occupational exposure to blood, body fluid and other potentially infectious, electrical and radiation hazards. May include clean room activities and handling controlled substances. Works with protected health information. Works in close proximity to patients and visitors. Ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.
Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment
Exacting attention to detail is required to insure the health and safety of patients and staff. Lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling or stooping to perform duties in a safe manner. Uses computers and other standard office equipment. Lifting supplies and equipment typically found in pharmacy area. Manipulation of individual bags/bottles and cases of solutions and other material.
