Description
Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using a variety of assessment tools and observational strategies. Create individualized treatment plans dedicated to short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing enhancements. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, language ability, fluency, vocal quality, and swallowing competence. Work collaboratively with fellow healthcare providers including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to form unified care approaches. Educate patients and their families to foster continued progress during therapy breaks. Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and sessions to ensure seamless patient care throughout their therapeutic journey. Keep precise and up-to-date documentation that adheres to all relevant guidelines. Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, seminars, and collaboration with peers. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), pending ASHA certification. Certifications
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills
Strong command over evidence-informed therapeutic interventions for various age groups, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Capable of adjusting therapeutic strategies to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical reasoning and adept problem-solving skills.
