The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans, with the ultimate goal of returning them to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant Supervisor to provide supervision of Nursing Assistants and Nursing Unit Aides in the nursing care of the residents at a Louisiana War Veterans Home-a large, complex, 156-bed, 24-hour health care facility.
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience in patient care; OR Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate or graduation from an Emergency Medical Technician Program plus two years of experience in patient care; OR Completion of an accredited registered or practical nursing program plus one year of experience in patient care. NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As a Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1, you will oversee and assist with patient care, which consists of four resident care units and provides care for residents who have medical needs, ADL needs, and who may be cognitively impaired or have a mental illness.
In this role, you will also:
Prepare assignment sheets and make adjustments as necessary. Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
Direct and assist in providing care such as feeding, ambulating, bathing, positioning, lifting and dressing. Make rounds and instruct/train subordinates in patient care techniques. Performs other related duties as required. Position-Specific Details: Location: Nursing Department of the Northeast LA Veterans Home in Monroe, Louisiana.
Appointment Type: Probational or Job Appointment Compensation: PREMIUM PAY (per HOUR physically worked) $3.00. This position also qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
