Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric to geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized assessments and interactive observational methods. Create tailored treatment plans designed to meet immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals. Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions that encompass communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and feeding/swallowing techniques. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and families to develop holistic care strategies. Educate patients and their families to support therapeutic progress beyond clinical settings. Assist with occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring comprehensive continuity of care throughout the treatment process. Uphold precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field via continuous education and collaborative learning opportunities. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
Valid state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills
Experience with evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, along with a robust understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders both developmental and acquired. Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Capability to modify therapy methods to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
