Supervise and support dietary staff during daily food production Train, mentor, and develop team members while serving as a department resource Open and oversee daily production kitchen operations Assign production teams and establish daily priorities Monitor workflow efficiency, food quality, cleanliness, and organization Ensure meals are prepared accurately and within designated timeframes Assist with inventory oversight and communicate supply or equipment needs Maintain proper sanitation, storage, and food safety standards Lead daily staff meetings and provide clear communication regarding production expectations and special instructions Collaborate with the Food & Nutrition Director regarding production flow, ordering needs, and staffing efficiency Support departmental and hospital safety procedures and emergency protocols Participate in meetings, trainings, and additional assignments as needed Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required Culinary, hospitality, or vocational/technical training preferred Minimum 3 years of experience as a cook in a healthcare, catering, hospitality, restaurant, or similar culinary environment Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a kitchen or food service department preferred ServSafe certification and Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred or ability to obtain Strong leadership, communication, organization, and multitasking skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare environment Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds
