The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider provides medical care and treatment to Neonates in the critical care setting under the direction of a Neonatologist. Responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of newborn/neonatal care delivered to patients who present to the NICU and Labor and Delivery Unit. Performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and interprets laboratory studies. Prescribes appropriate interventions and medications. Utilizes Neonatal Nurse practitioner protocols and nursing care practice for Neonates and Newborn patients. Discusses cases with Obstetrician and Neonatologist. Provides education to patients. General Requirements:
CDS and DEA
Current NRP and BLS certification
APN Specific Requirements:
APN License
RN License
One of the following
NNP Certification with NICU RN experience
Primary Care Pediatric NP Certification with PICU setting procedural experience as an APP
Acute Care Pediatric NP Certification with APP experience in an inpatient setting
PA Specific Requirements
PA License
PICU or NICU experience
New grad PAs require intensive NICU fellowship
NCCPA
Scheduling Requirements:
Full time (40 Hours)
On-call
Holiday Rotation
Essential Functions:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions under the supervision of a physician.
Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Perform procedures as necessary.
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health education.
Stay current with medical best practices, guidelines, and regulations.
Engage in continuing education and professional development activities.
Participate in research or quality improvement projects as directed or needed.
