Registered Nurse - Level 4 NICU This is a 13-week contract position. Shift: Days 7 AM - 7 PM Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends/six weeks with two Mondays and two Fridays. The competent Nurse, in a Level 4 NICU setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. Responsibilities include providing routine and complex care for neonatal patients, ranging from feeder growers to complex ICU patients. The nurse will continue to develop the ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing and make appropriate assignments to other care providers. Responsibilities:
Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments in accordance with protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred. Current BLS Certification required (AHA only). Current STABLE certification required from one of the following courses: Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor. Current NRPCertification required. RN License in the state of TX or compact. Completion of New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
