*Position Summary*
Great States Construction, a leading commercial general contractor based in Fargo, ND, is seeking an experienced and dedicated traveling *Superintendent* to oversee day-to-day field operations for multi-family and commercial construction projects in the Bismarck market. The Superintendent will manage on-site activities, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate subcontractors and field crews. The Superintendent will report directly to the VP of Construction.
*Compensation Structure*
* $110,000-$130,000k/yr Base Depending on Experience
* Bonus structure based on job performance
* Per Diem
* Company Vehicle or Gas Stipend (If you prefer your own vehicle)
*Key Responsibilities*
* Direct all on-site field operations for assigned *multi-family and commercial construction projects*.
* Partner with Project Managers to maintain alignment on project goals, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
* Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, foremen, and field crews to ensure efficient progress.
* Enforce job site safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
* Monitor quality control to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
* Lead daily/weekly job site meetings with subcontractors and field teams.
* Provide accurate daily logs, progress reports, and field documentation.
* Anticipate and resolve field-related issues, escalating when necessary in coordination with the Project Manager.
* Support scheduling, logistics, and resource planning to keep projects on track.
* Participate in project closeout, ensuring punch list items are completed and the site is turned over to the client in excellent condition.
*Qualifications*
* Minimum of 7–10 years of field experience in construction, with proven leadership as a Superintendent or Foreman.
* Strong experience in *multi-family construction*; additional experience in *commercial general contracting* required.
* Solid understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety requirements.
* Proven ability to lead subcontractors and field crews effectively.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate as a team partner with Project Managers.
* OSHA certification required; other industry safety credentials are a plus.
* Ability to travel within the Bismarck region as needed.
* Clean driving record.
*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required*
* Proficient with construction technology tools including Procore (preferred) and Bluebeam.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
