Description: Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality. He/she must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the exam and relieve their anxiety. Must demonstrate an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Demonstrates the ability to supervise students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training. Applies knowledge to produce high-quality diagnostic images to meet or exceed department guidelines. Assumes responsibility for maintaining professional competence through participation in continuing education. Takes a customer service approach in all interactions with internal and external customers. Communicates clearly and concisely with individuals while complying with confidentiality requirements. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age-related needs of the patients served in the assigned practice. These skills include age-appropriate communication skills, safety needs, patient teaching, and physical/functional growth and development. Uses imaging equipment, PACS, and EPIC to process and retain images and exam-related information. Utilizes radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
