Surgical Technologist Senior About Trenton Hospital This Magnet®-designated facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients and is one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes. It is home to nine university affiliated residency programs. Here, you will find a Level II trauma center that is a nationally recognized heart, vascular and pulmonary specialties along with other specialties like orthopedics, neurosurgery, and women's health. Scope of work The Surgical Technologist Senior will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. Acts as a preceptor and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum. Qualifications
High school diploma Required Associate's Degree Preferred Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred 3 years of relevant experience. 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience. Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Required NBSTSA or NCCT (CST) certified upon Hire Required
