The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit while promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes, the RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.
Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition; demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care while reviewing and revising the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services; utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs, and as appropriate to care, treatment, and services during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; functions as a mentor/preceptor; demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement; participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model.
