Aide, Classroom The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Instructional Aide provides support to teachers and students to enhance the educational environment and promote student success. The aide assists with classroom instruction, student supervision, preparation of materials, and administrative tasks while helping maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Job Responsibilities
Assist teachers with implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. Provide individual and small-group support to students under the direction of the teacher. Reinforce academic concepts and learning objectives. Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies. Prepare instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning resources. Monitor students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, field trips, and other school functions as assigned. Support students with special needs in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs) and teacher guidance. Maintain accurate records, attendance logs, and other required documentation. Assist with grading assignments and organizing student work. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, students, and parents as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator.
Job Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or college coursework preferred. Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. Basic computer and technology skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Understanding of child development and learning principles. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team. Patience, flexibility, and strong organizational skills. Ability to supervise and engage students effectively.
