Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests, as needed; Reporting relevant information to the provider; Assisting the provider with patient care as requested; Performing scribe duties, as needed; Reviewing treatment procedures with patients; Assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results; Reviewing discharge instructions; Cast application, specialty cast, minor reductions/molding/suture/Staple removal and dressing changes; Prepares injections, obtains cultures as ordered/needed; Dispense Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to patients, application of DME, custom brace measurements, and, in some cases, ordering of DME inventory; Verifying patient information; recording medical history and reporting to physician; Demonstrate complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system; Maintain and safeguard all patient records as indicated and required by the policies of the practice and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Unrestricted current LPN license to practice nursing in NYS required; 1- 3 years of recent experience preferred; Excellent communication and customer service skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred; CPR certification preferred
Other Information:
Travel between offices as needed, reliable transportation is required.
