Responsibilities Provide medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process (assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation) and document in the electronic medical record
Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, including diet modifications, supplements, nutrition support, and patient education
Monitor patient progress using clinical indicators (labs, weight, outcomes) and adjust care plans accordingly
Deliver nutrition education to patients, families, staff, and community using tailored materials and approaches
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in rounds/meetings, and communicate with providers to optimize care
Support training of staff, students, and new hires; contribute to policy updates and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications Education: After January 1, 2024 - Master’s degree in dietetics or degree that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
Individuals credentialed as Registered Dietitians prior to January 1, 2024, are eligible with a Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or degree that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
Successful completion of an internship coordinated undergraduate program, or post graduate program accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
Experience: Preferred: One year of experience as an acute clinical dietitian for entry level practice or 3+ years’ experience as an acute dietitian for advanced level practice.
License(s)/Certification(s): Lic Dietitian - Must hold a current license or certification specific to the state of employment IADHHS – Iowa Department of Health and Human Services
IDFPR – Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation
Wisconsin
Reg Dietitian required CDR – Commission on Dietetic Registration
Preferred: Cert Diabetic Educator NCBDE – National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators
Preferred: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician NBNSC – National Board of Nutrition Support Certification
Preferred: Board Certification Specialty from CDR in: Oncology Nutrition
Gerontology Nutrition
Renal Nutrition
Pediatrics Critical Care Nutrition
IA/IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required within 90 days of hire.
