Electrical CAD Technicians
to support distribution projects within the utility space. This role will work closely with designers, engineers, and project managers on electrical distribution work (primarily supporting FirstEnergy projects), contributing to the creation and revision of technical drawings. This is an excellent entry-to-junior level opportunity for someone looking to grow within the utility engineering space and develop into future leadership roles. Key Responsibilities Create, update, and revise
electrical distribution drawings
using CAD software Support engineers, designers, and PMs across active T&D projects Interpret markups and redlines to produce accurate technical documentation Ensure drawings meet client and utility standards Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to meet project deadlines Required Qualifications 6 months to 2 years of relevant CAD experience
(utility or electrical preferred) Proficiency in one or more CAD tools: AutoCAD DDS (e.g., Spider CAD, Howard Distribution Software) Associate’s degree or trade certification required Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team Preferred Qualifications Exposure to
utility or electrical distribution projects Experience working in the
utility or energy sector Interest or exposure to
AI tools or automation in design workflows Demonstrated ambition to grow into
leadership or advanced technical roles Important Note on Education Candidates with bachelor’s degrees are welcome; however: Degrees in
Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering are not eligible Acceptable degrees may include
