Description
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning all age groups, employing standardized assessments alongside observational insights. Create individualized treatment strategies tailored to both immediate and enduring communication or swallowing objectives. Implement focused speech therapy interventions concentrating on language expression, fluency, voice production, and swallowing issues. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive patient care. Deliver educational sessions to patients and their families to facilitate progress during and after clinical visits. Assist in performing inpatient speech therapy assessments and therapies, promoting seamless transitions in the healing process. Ensure meticulous, timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations. Engage in continuous professional learning to stay abreast of developments in speech-language pathology. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications
Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment. Skills
Adept in evidence-based treatment techniques for diverse patient demographics, with an emphasis on developmental and acquired deficits in speech, language, and swallowing. Outstanding communication skills for engaging patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams effectively. Able to modify therapeutic approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong analytical and problem-solving capacities for clinical decision-making.
