Education Required: High School Diploma
Education and/or Experience Preferred:
Education Preferred: 2 years college preferred. Experience Preferred: Healthcare and Pediatric experience a plus. RT/CRT experience is a plus.
License and/or Certification Required:
CPR or BLS Healthcare certification within 1 month of hire and maintained thereafter] Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, Certified Polysomnographic Technologists or a RT or CRT Sleep Disorders Specialty as well as complying with all certification requirements. RPSGT, CPGST or Certification by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) either CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of:
Policies and procedures related to functional units supported to include Hospital and Sleep Center. Amicable Inter-relationships between functional areas.

Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventoryevaluation. Maintain current CPR or BLS certification. Demonstrate computer skills appropriate for the position. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate appropriate social skills. Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills. Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrate teamwork skills. Follow HIPAA policies to maintain the privacy and security of patient information. Demonstrate ability to follow direction. Respond to sleep patient's procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information. Provide patient education utilizing sleep center specific protocols. Adhere to sleep center policies related to quality assurance. Evaluate sleep study related equipment and inventory. Review and evaluate sleep studies and provide feedback to staff. Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy. Comply with professional standards and code of conduct. Assist the medical director and/or manager in some aspects of sleep center operations.
Ability to:
Multi-task Handle a fast paced, high volume environment, Work in a team environment alongside multiple disciplines Provide guidance and training to peers Demonstrated experience in responding to unanticipated problems with equipment or patients during night shift. Familiar with microcomputers and Windows-based software programs. Demonstrated ability to facilitate patient-oriented services.
