On-call shifts 2-3 times per month with the requirement to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts. Job Description The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures by utilizing x-ray equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring high-quality imaging for interpretation by the Radiologist. ResponsibilitiesVerify patients' identity and review physician's orders prior to x-ray procedures. Operate x-ray equipment safely and effectively to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs. Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns. Position patients correctly, which may involve lifting and moving patients with limited mobility. Maintain a low radiation dose to patients while producing high-quality images. Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment promptly. Utilize electronic patient information systems for verification of patient details and imaging protocols. Practice dual patient identifier procedures and ensure accurate patient record keeping. Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureCompletion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). New York State (NYS) license or ability to obtain prior to starting. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist. Experience at a Level 1 trauma center. Ability to lift or move patients as necessary.
