Essential Functions

Perform audiometric testing, including pure tone, speech, and immittance testing
Perform Hallpike testing and subsequent treatment of BPPV using canalith repositioning maneuvers
Develop treatment plans based on test results, needs, and self-assessment measures
Fit hearing aids of a variety of styles and manufacturers utilizing real ear probe mic measures
Provide continued care with follow ups and servicing/maintenance of hearing devices
Select and provide appropriate assistive listening devices as needed
Obtain earmold impressions and modify earmolds as needed
Perform cerumen management as needed
Counsel patients and their loved ones regarding the nature of hearing loss and tinnitus, review communication strategies, and provide realistic post-treatment expectations
Counsel patient regarding tinnitus management strategies
Refer patients to the proper specialist as warranted, such as ENT, aural rehab audiologist, tinnitus therapy audiologists, and cognitive behavior specialists
