Perform thorough patient evaluations, including physical examinations and careful reviews of medical histories. Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of surgical conditions through comprehensive interpretation of imaging studies and laboratory findings. Work closely with surgeons to develop and implement individualized surgical care plans. Provide intraoperative assistance, which includes preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and delivering instruments during surgery. Offer outstanding pre-operative and post-operative care that involves medication management, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education. Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Experience with surgical rotations is highly preferred. Certifications
Current and unrestricted PA-C certification. BLS and ACLS certifications required. State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant. Essential Skills
Strong understanding of surgical protocols and sterile techniques. Ability to analyze diagnostic tests and contribute to complex clinical decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Capability to perform well under pressure, especially in surgical settings. A compassionate bedside manner respecting patient dignity and autonomy.
