Position Details
Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing recognized assessment tools and your observational skills. Create customized treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on language, voice, fluency, and swallowing challenges. Collaboratively partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans. Educate patients and families to enhance progress outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment process. Keep precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies. Engage in ongoing learning and peer collaboration to stay current with advancements in the field. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Needed
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferable. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days after hiring. Desired Skills
Strong command of evidence-based treatment techniques for individuals of all ages, coupled with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with patients, their families, and the multi-disciplinary care team. Ability to modify therapy strategies to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical judgment and effective problem-solving capabilities.
