Description
Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods. Design tailored treatment strategies that address immediate needs as well as long-term communication goals. Implement individualized speech therapy interventions focusing on communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing. Engage collaboratively with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, along with caregivers and families, to cultivate unified care approaches. Provide education for patients and families to encourage continued progress outside of therapy sessions. Assist with inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions as needed to ensure seamless patient care. Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational requirements. Stay abreast of advancements in the field through continual education and peer interaction. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for all ages, with a strong grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges. Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to modify therapeutic techniques to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
