DetailsClient Name Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Job Type Permanent Offering Physician Profession Radiology Specialty Interventional Job ID 15467774 Shift DetailsShift Full Time Days Scheduled Hours 40 Job Order DetailsStart Date 05/31/2026 Job Description Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine's Department of Radiology is recruiting a fellowship trained Interventional Radiologist to join five IR physicians in a 100% IR practice primarily covering Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 763-bed teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma and Primary Stroke Center certification in southwestern Virginia serving approximately 1 million people. Details: • 100% IR • Q5 call split equally between all physicians covering a single hospital • Two PAs and two NP's help cover inpatient consultations and select procedures • Outpatient IR clinic with dedicated clinic staff • IR physicians share coverage of multiple oncology conferences • Inpatient PICC service managed by a dedicated nursing team • Case mix includes biopsies, drains, venous access, venous thrombolysis/thrombectomy, pulmonary thrombolysis, IVC filter placement/retrieval, peripheral arteriograms with occasional interventions, mesenteric stenting, biliary intervention, nephrostomy tubes, gastrostomy tubes, spine injections, TIPS, BRTO, TACE, Y90, ablation and many others. • Equipment: Two Siemens single plane angio suites and two Siemens biplane angio suites, one dedicated IR CT suite with interventional package, one Siemens wall mounted multipurpose suite for pain procedures, one Siemens S1000 diagnostic ultrasound, five portable ultrasounds, Neuwave microwave ablation system • Sectra PACS, PowerScribe 360, EPIC EMR A collaborative and hardworking attitude is a requirement for successful recruitment to match the cohesive relationship and dedication of the current IR group. 2023 Graduating Fellows are encouraged to apply.
