Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, and mobility assistance Obtain and record vital signs accurately and report changes in patient condition Serve as a safety companion/sitter for patients requiring continuous observation Support nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient information effectively Respond appropriately to changing patient needs and emergency situations Promote patient comfort, dignity, and safety at all times Follow infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies and procedures Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe working environment Requirements:
Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Minimum one (1) year of patient care experience required Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital required Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance requirements Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) years of experience providing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) preferred Experience serving as a safety companion/sitter for high-risk patients highly preferred Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred Experience caring for diverse patient populations preferred Strong observation, documentation, and patient advocacy skills
