About the Role We are seeking a driven Regional Sales Manager to expand our presence and strengthen distributor performance across the Northern California and Pacific Northwest territory.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage distributor operations to maximize market coverage and sales performance
Develop and execute regional sales plans aligned with company objectives
Monitor distributor effectiveness and implement improvement strategies, including training and performance coaching
Serve as the primary liaison between Makino and distributor partners to drive alignment on sales strategy and execution
Drive new business development and increase market share across key manufacturing segments
Support distributors with customer visits, technical discussions, and solution‑based selling
Coordinate with marketing, product management, and applications teams to execute targeted sales initiatives
Maintain accurate sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and regional reporting
Monitor competitive activity and market trends within the territory
Lead and support training efforts to enhance distributor product knowledge and sales effectiveness
Qualifications
Strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive‑level stakeholders
Demonstrated success in distributor or channel‑based sales environments
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
Strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing environments
Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and comfortable working in a remote, field‑based role
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience
8–10 years of metal cutting experience with a focus on machining centers within a manufacturing environment
Experience working with distributors or indirect sales channels strongly preferred
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
