The Sales Manager, Target is a full-ownership role spanning new business development, strategic account leadership, and hands-on operational execution within Voyageur Group’s rapidly growing Target division. This position is built for a motivated, entrepreneurial professional who is equally energized by closing new clients, building long-term growth strategies, and managing the operational detail that keeps those accounts running at a high level. You will own the complete client relationship for a portfolio of brand partners at Target, from prospecting and onboarding through strategic planning, day-to-day operational execution, and growth. You are both the external face to clients and the internal engine driving their business forward: responsible for everything from item setup, inventory management, and content compliance to senior-level strategy, relationship management, and new business development. This role reports to the VP Sales, Target Team Lead and is a key contributor to the architecture and culture of Voyageur Group\'s Target division as we scale. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of Target vendor clients, owning the relationship at multiple levels and ensuring consistent client satisfaction. Develop and execute account-level strategic plans aligned with both Target’s objectives and client growth goals. Lead line reviews, innovation sessions, and key client meetings, leveraging performance insights and operational context. Analyze vendor performance metrics to identify root-cause issues and translate insights into clear recommendations and action plans for clients. Identify opportunities for account expansion, new item introduction, and category growth across client portfolios. Coordinate with Voyageur Group’s Retail Media team on advertising priorities and support execution of client objectives Develop promotional roadmap that achieves sales and financial objectives Own end to end execution of new item launches Account Operations & Execution Lead forecasting, inventory flow, and reporting in collaboration with Target’s Inventory and Planning teams and vendor partners; translate those inputs into proactive strategies to prevent and resolve out-of-stocks. Own end-to-end item setup and maintenance, ensuring complete and accurate information across all platforms. Effectively manage the sample process, ensuring items are ordered, tracked, labeled, and provided to Target on time. Maintain accurate records for program agreements, pricing, product information, order status, planning issues, and vendor set-ups. Create and manage all timing and action documents for internal and client use, ensuring accuracy and accountability at every stage. Conduct comp shopping and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and white space for client portfolios. Assist in the new vendor setup process and hold all vendors accountable for adhering to Target’s standards. Relationship Management Build and maintain strong working relationships with Target buyers, planners, and inventory managers on behalf of client partners. Be an expert in Target\'s systems and requirements including POL, PCN, Item, LaunchPad, Content Pipeline, ShipIQ, POP, Synergy, and Greenfield. Serve as a vendor advocate, helping clients navigate Target’s processes, requirements, and expectations effectively. Identify and resolve client issues promptly to ensure a consistently high level of satisfaction. Sales & New Business Development Support identifying, prospecting, and closing new brand partnerships for Voyageur Group\'s Target division, with a focus on small-to-mid-sized vendors. Contribute to compelling proposals that communicate the value of Voyageur Group\'s services to prospective clients. Support the Target Team Lead in executing broader sales strategies and contributing to team revenue goals. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience working with or at Target’s corporate offices, or in a senior key account management or sales management role with a major retailer. Demonstrated success in both sales (prospecting, pitching, closing) and strategic account management; experience directing the work of others is a plus. Strong understanding of Target systems including POL, PCN, Item, LaunchPad, Content Pipeline, ShipIQ, POP, Synergy, and Greenfield. Experience with inventory management, demand planning, and sales forecasting. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs). Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make actionable recommendations. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment. High attention to detail, data integrity, and quality of work. Accountability and trust-building are non-negotiable. Mistakes happen; not owning them cannot. Entrepreneurial spirit with a growth mindset, excited to build something new while delivering excellent client results. Comfortable in a remote or hybrid work environment. Willingness to travel to clients and company offsites as required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
