Perform initial activity therapy assessment to develop appropriate treatment goals. Facilitate groups on the inpatient psychiatric units. Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning and team meetings. Provide education to mental health associates through both formal and informal means to ensure effective and appropriate therapeutic group facilitation. Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Qualifications requirements include:
Master's degree in related field and working toward or has already obtained a certification in the fields of expressive, music, art, recreation, occupational, or physical therapy. OR Bachelor's degree in recreational or expressive therapy and one of the following certifications: Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS), Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), or other certified expressive therapist modality.
