CVPICU Registered Nurse Location: Charleston, SC Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule: Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Job Description: We are seeking an experienced CVPICU Registered Nurse to join our award-winning Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care Unit. This 29-bed unit is a referral center for pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina, providing care for patients with congenital heart disease. You will be responsible for managing critically ill pediatric patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac care. Responsibilities:
Provide critical care nursing for pediatric patients in a high-acuity environment. Administer medications and IV therapy as per protocol. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care. Conduct thorough assessments and monitor patient health status. Participate in the care of patients undergoing cardiac surgery and other complex medical interventions.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac ICU. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required. Experience with Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) is highly preferred. ACLS certification is preferred.
