Vascular Tech Hours of Work: 8-5 Days Of Week: M-F Work Shift: Job Description: The primary purpose of a Vascular Tech is to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic techniques to perform routine, vascular, non-invasive procedures, and echocardiograms to include 2D, Color Doppler, Pulse Wave, and Stress. Travel is required. Job Requirements:
Registered or registry eligible as a Cardiac Sonographer. Prefer two (2) years allied health program or two (2) years of college with biological sciences. Ability to demonstrate competency in cardiovascular echocardiography. Must be able to recognize abnormal structure and be able to correlate this information into a useful study.
Job Responsibilities:
Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards. Confidentiality of clinic and patient information. Correlates clinical history with the test to be performed. Performs complete study including M MODE, REAL TIME, COLOR FLOW MAPPING and DOPPLER. Prepares patients for examination and explains procedure to patients while performing studies. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goal and objectives. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. Participates in reading with physician and contributes professional knowledge to final diagnostic impression or report. Maintains order cleanliness of all equipment and work area. Consults with referring physician, regarding patient's previous history. Perform other job duties as assigned.
