We are seeking a highly motivated , positive , and professional Expanded Duties Dental Assistant, EDDA, to join our Risas Family. Our EDDAs are empowered to be more independent chairside when educat ing patients on dental treatment and oral health. We invest in our employee's growth and development through cross training in several dental specialties . This is a great opportunity to expand upon your knowledge and advance in the dental field. Our EDDAs work hands on with the doctors, in providing exceptional care for our patients while working efficiently to maintain patient flow .
Responsibilities
Assists the d octors at chair-side with all aspects of dental treatment
Performs ad vanced dental assisting treatment including coronal polish, sealants, crown prep, denture impressions and adjustments, packing cord, and Class II fillings
Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare instruments and equipment for patient treatment
Educate patients on general oral health care as directed by the doctor
Presenting treatment to patients based on Doctor recommendations
Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients in an efficient and timely manner
Record patient charting and all the doctor's notes in the digital patient chart as directed
Provides continuous support, training, and feedback to teammates
Store and maintains inventory and adequate supplies in all dental work areas
Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies and practices)
Perform additional advanced duties as requested by Doctors or Office Manager
Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish/English
High School Diploma or GED required
EDDA Certification preferred
3 years' experience in the dental field preferred
X-ray certification
Coronal polish certification
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Must be highly skilled, trained, and have superior knowledge of dent al clinical operations and terminology
Ability to anticipate the needs of the doctor and patients
Must have a warm , friendly, outgoing personality and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work within a team environment and lend support, as a team player, to teammates as needed.
