Job Summary
The in-house Paralegal provides comprehensive legal and administrative support to the General Counsel (GC) and Compliance Director (CD). This role is responsible for managing corporate governance, overseeing the contract lifecycle, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Serving as a key liaison between the legal team, internal stakeholders, and external counsel, the Paralegal supports business operations through contract drafting and negotiation, compliance audits, maintenance of corporate records, and legal research.
Essential Job Functions
Legal and Compliance
• Supports the General Counsel and Compliance Director by conducting research and analysis on healthcare, employment, affordable housing, and broader business law matters, including regulatory developments such as PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), as well as industry trends, to inform strategic decision-making and ensure compliance.
• Assists with internal audits, maintaining compliance policies, and managing training records.
• Tracks and audits correction action activities.
Contract Management
• Drafts, reviews and manages contracts, including NDAs, vendor agreements, and commercial deals.
• Supports the review, revision, and negotiation of various contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts.
Document Preparation
• Drafts, reviews, redlines, and organizes legal and compliance documents, including contracts, policies, agreements, regulatory filings and correspondence.
Litigation
• Supports the legal department in managing discovery requests, subpoenas and coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
Asset Management
• Assists with management of property holdings of company.
Job Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate.
Experience
• 3-5 years in a corporate legal department or law firm.
Licenses/Certifications
• Paralegal Certificate preferred.
Abilities Required
• Experience with regulatory healthcare compliance preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, healthcare software, contract management systems, and e-billing systems.
• Strong written, oral and organization and prioritization skills.
