Serve as a working supervisor for CNA staff in the field, offering guidance, mentorship, and on-the-spot support. Step in to cover open shifts as needed, maintaining continuity and quality of care for clients. Monitor CNA performance in the field and provide real-time coaching and feedback. Provide hands-on care as directed by the nursing supervisor, including transferring, bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, toileting, vital signs, and height/weight measurements as needed. Follow the patient's plan of care and assist with daily living tasks such as feeding, meal preparation, light housekeeping, linen changes, transportation to appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping. Act as a resource and point of escalation for CNAs, reporting concerns or care issues to the nursing supervisor.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED Completion of an approved nursing assistant program Current, valid CNA certification in good standing CPR certification and a negative TB skin test or chest X-ray Minimum of 2–3 years of healthcare experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred Valid driver's license with a reliable, insured vehicle Flexibility to cover open shifts across the Chicagoland area as needed Ability to work independently and lead others with minimal supervision Strong empathy, communication skills, professionalism, and teamwork Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect patient information Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs (assistance needs vary by client mobility)
