Performing thorough patient evaluations, arranging diagnostic testing, and crafting individualized care approaches Diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions in partnership with physicians or independently (depending on credentialing) Providing education to patients and families about prevention strategies, well-being, and managing diseases Prescribing necessary medications and therapies within your scope of practice Engaging in follow-up care and managing chronic conditions Working in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, comprehensive patient care Accurately documenting within electronic medical records (EMR) Educational Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Necessary Certifications
Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Texas National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to obtain within 90 days) Skills That Distinguish You
