Perform comprehensive assessments of patients, order necessary tests, and create personalized treatment plans Diagnose and manage acute, episodic, or chronic conditions collaboratively with physicians or autonomously, depending on your qualifications Guide patients and their families in preventative care, wellness, and effective disease management Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions as permitted by your practice scope Engage in patient follow-ups and chronic care strategizing Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive, comprehensive patient care Accurately document patient interactions within electronic medical records (EMR) Education Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Essential Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in California National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, or the ability to obtain within 90 days Skills That Make You Stand Out
