Safely operate facility vehicles to transport residents to and from scheduled destinations Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles, including mobility and safety support Provide supervision and attentive care to residents during transport Maintain a courteous, respectful, and compassionate demeanor at all times Ensure resident safety by following transportation and safety protocols Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs or concerns Maintain cleanliness and basic safety checks of assigned vehicle Protect resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines Represent Americare positively when interacting with residents, families, and community partners
What You Bring: Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 20 years of age Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required Valid, unrestricted driver's license Acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy
Skills & Abilities
Ability to remain calm, patient, and attentive while transporting residents Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism
Physical Demands:
Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance Maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.
Safety Requirements:
Follow all transportation safety procedures and two-person assist guidelines when required Utilize required PPE and safety equipment Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation Participate in company drug testing procedures Adhere to safe driving practices, including seatbelt use and no cell phone use while driving
Work Environment: This role involves driving company vehicles and assisting residents in and out of facilities, medical offices, and community destinations. Duties may include indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
