This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role offers an opportunity to provide direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical competence and adhering to the highest ethical standards. General Summary The LPN delivers quality nursing care including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education. This role requires adherence to safety protocols such as infection prevention and safe patient handling to ensure an optimally safe environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follow established safety policies to maintain a secure patient care environment. Provide nursing care within the Practical Nurse Scope of Practice to support quality outcomes and patient safety. Perform ongoing patient assessments to monitor status and communicate findings to healthcare team members. Collaborate with supervising RNs or Shift Managers to meet patient needs effectively. Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring items to support clinical decision-making. Communicate patient information to physicians and team members to enhance outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage with patients and families to improve their experience and provide health education. Apply critical thinking and pursue continuing education to develop nursing skills. Education Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is required. Experience One year of practical nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory. Requirements
Current LPN license valid in the state or Compact Licensure. Graduate Practical Nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Mental and Physical Requirements This role requires considerable mental concentration and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and stooping. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
