The Veterinary Technician Supervisor plays a key leadership role within our hospital, balancing hands-on clinical work with team leadership responsibilities. You will partner closely with the Hospital Director to support hospital operations, elevate patient care standards, and cultivate a strong, engaged technical team. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced technician ready to make a meaningful impact on both patient outcomes and team development. Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and support veterinary technicians and assistants within the ER, fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable team culture. Train and develop staff through ongoing coaching, skill assessments, and structured learning opportunities.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels while maintaining efficiency and controlling overtime. Partner with hospital leadership to support overall operations, including case flow, quality of patient care, and the client experience.
Assist with performance management, employee relations, and team development initiatives. Facilitate team meetings and continuing education opportunities to support growth and engagement.
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards, including OSHA and DEA requirements.
Work alongside the team in a hands-on capacity, performing technical duties such as anesthesia monitoring, phlebotomy, catheter placement, radiographs, and advanced care for critical patients.
Requirements:
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT) in good standing required
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in emergency, critical care, or specialty medicine
At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Strong technical skill set including anesthesia, diagnostics, and ICU patient care
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, with the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages is a plus
