PRN Surgical Technologist USPI Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is hiring a PRN Surgical Technologist. Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. Our mission is to provide first-class surgical services to the local community in a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment, one in which we would be happy to treat our own families. We have 5 operating rooms offering a full range of surgical procedures including: Bariatrics, Colorectal, General Surgery/Robotics, GI, OB/Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Spine. Job Summary The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities. Monday-Friday work schedule NO call required NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours PRN status will require at least 6 shifts/month. Some availability on Fridays is needed. Required Skills
High School Diploma or GED; Completion of a Surgical Technician Program 2 + years experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using the DaVinci robotic systems is a plus Certification as required by state Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians BLS accredited by AHA
