Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and observational methodologies. Design individualized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate goals and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions addressing a wide spectrum of needs including communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques. Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to formulate comprehensive care plans. Provide patient and family education to enhance therapeutic progress outside of clinical settings. Occasionally participate in inpatient speech evaluations and therapy, ensuring seamless transitions in care. Document treatment efficiently and accurately, adhering to all regulatory standards. Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about advances within the field. Educational Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Needed
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needs to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment. Required Skills
