Specialty Pharmacy Technician, Operations The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the UCSF Medical Center, as well as its providers and payers. These services include, but are not limited to drug procurement, storage, and security; safe accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug uses policies within the medical center; drug information services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs. The department encompasses the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, an academic campus unit within the School of Pharmacy, which has a primary responsibility for teaching professional courses in the PharmD curriculum, research, and public service. The Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Services share their philosophy of pharmaceutical care. Under Pharmaceutical Services, the Inpatient Pharmacy, at Parnassus, Mount Zion, and Mission Bay Sites, provides pharmaceutical care to patients hospitalized at Moffitt, Long, Mount Zion and Mission Bay Hospitals and specialized services to researchers on campus. The Specialty Pharmacy Clerk Senior is responsible for independently delivering exemplary customer experience. This role encompasses register sales and other clerical duties. The Specialty Pharmacy Clerk Senior is also responsible for performing shipping, cash management, administrative functions and other responsibilities assigned by the Operations Supervisor. The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at UCSF has long been nationally recognized as one of the founding fathers for clinical pharmacy services, which was established in 1965. Today, the department continues to lead the profession through the integration of advanced technology & robotics, comprehensive pharmaceutical care and clinical services. Required Qualifications
Completion of a recognized/accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program (includes hands-on training period during externship), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum two (2) years experience in a Specialty Pharmacy and/or in a retail/community pharmacy, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician Certification CPhT
License/Certification
Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
