Job Responsibilities
Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both formal evaluations and observational methods. Create individualized treatment strategies that target both interim goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver tailored speech therapy that addresses communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate cohesive care plans. Provide education for patients and their families, empowering them to promote progress outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless continuity in patient care. Maintain precise and prompt documentation in accordance with all relevant guidelines. Stay informed on best practices through ongoing education and collaboration with peers in the field. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hiring. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based practices for a variety of age groups, understanding both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and collaborative healthcare teams. Adept at modifying therapy approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic preferences. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
