Prepares, administers and charts medications and treatments. Performs medical treatments under supervision of a licensed nurse. Takes temperatures, pulses and respiration and records on patient's chart. Participates in treatment team meetings and provides first aide for minor injuries.

Must possess current certification as a Certified Medication Aide I as administered by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials. Working Conditions May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions that requires the following of safety procedures. May occasionally encounter patients/residents with unpredictable behavior. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
